Heal and Evolve

Back at square one? Try this to handle change with more certainty.

Are you full of energy and hope one day, and completely exhausted the next just from looking at your to-do list?

Are you feeling a mixture of hope for better times in the future and fearful about what tomorrow may bring?

Maybe you’ve pulled back from engaging with the world at large and have withdrawn into yourself.

Being in a state of growth feels chaotic and unsettling because there are so many unknowns.

Our thoughts about ourselves and our futures can cause us feel worried and very anxious.

I wanted to share some things I’ve learned in my training as a life coach about managing change, and offer some practical ways to feel more peace and certainty, even in changing times.

The Change Cycle

Change, according to Martha Beck in Finding Your Own North Star, is a pattern that can be compared to the stages of change a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly.

If you are experiencing the symptoms I listed above, a feeling of hope mixed with a tinge of sadness and fear from your old life falling apart, you have some of the symptoms experienced at the end of stage one of the change cycle.

Martha Beck refers to this as the liminal stage. It’s considered a magical space because you feel like nothing, since your old way of relating to yourself and the world has changed.

It’s the perfect time to reconnect to the deeper truths inside of you and recreate a new life that is more aligned with who you are ready to become.

Here are a few ways you can do that.

Reconnecting To Your Essence

  1. Take the time to journal. Get real about all of your feelings and thoughts related to what is going on in your life. Journaling every day creates clarity around what really matters to you and what doesn’t. Writing is a safe space to make your world right again.
  2. Consider reading these books to move through square one with more understanding and patience for yourself and the process of change.

Pay attention to those fearful thoughts that cause you to feel worried, anxious, and helpless about yourself and your ability to create a new life. Check out this video I created on how to start letting go of old stories that keep you in fear and lacking in self-confidence .

Managing Change With More Certainty

We all go through changes several times in our lifetime. If we can start to see change as part of our natural evolution and have an understanding of what to expect, it makes the process feel more manageable.

I’ve created a short video series explaining how to start releasing painful thoughts and creating more peace and freedom in your world. You can watch the series here.

P.S. If you want more personal support navigating change and recreating your life, let’s connect. I have a 3-month program that will help you get clear around your deepest desires and teach you how to make decisions and take action without the feeling of overwhelm and fear of not doing enough.

You can learn more about the program here.
