The Power Of Slowing Down To Speed Up
I know, it seems counterintuitive. How can you possibly get all of the things done by slowing down? The idea of slowing down makes you believe you will get even further behind, but the constant doing is making you feel mentally and emotionally frazzled.
So frazzled, that if I asked you: what are you feeling? what do you really want? You may not have a clue.
Getting caught up in the cycle of doing more and more leads to disconnection from ourselves. It keeps us on a never-ending treadmill that values doing over being, but the being is where all of your power lies.
The only way to access this power is by tuning out the outside world in order to listen deeply to ourselves. This will allow you to know and prioritize what actually matters to you.
It’s not about getting more things done: it’s about getting the right things done.
Here are some simple practices you can do to help you slow down and reveal what you really value.
Nurturing Your Right Life

Creating Before Consuming
There is so much power in deliberately creating space for something new to show up in your life first thing in the morning.
It could be a ritual of sitting in silence for 20 minutes, working on a piece of art, speaking affirmations of loving kindness to yourself, or spending 15 minutes a day working on an impossible dream you hold dear to your heart.
When we take the time to care for our souls through intentional creative acts, we allow more joy and happiness to fill our days. This will give you the clarity and energy you need to get more of the right things done.
Journaling
The clearer we are about what we want and don’t want, the easier it becomes to make decisions that support your values and wellbeing.
Journaling first thing in the morning is a quick way to reveal what actually matters to you.

Exploring Your Curiosities
What have you been meaning to explore? Are you drawn to a particular city, country, online course, person, organization, song, or book? Whatever it is, taking the time to explore your curiosities leads to deeper self-knowledge and insights on how to create the life that is right for you.
Resting When You Are Tired
It’s so easy to look at your long list of things to do and believe you don’t have enough time to just rest and relax.
This was and still is a tough one for me.
If you find yourself powering through your to-do list on autopilot, consider creating more downtime between tasks.
Start seeing rest as a necessity, rather than a privilege. Honoring the needs of your body creates the space for new solutions to appear, reduces your stress levels, and allows you to be more present in each moment.
Slow Down To Find Your Right Life
When we take the time to slow down, we have the opportunity to be more intentional with our lives. Connecting with our soul through creativity, journaling, exploring, and resting allows us to understand who we are and what actually matters.
This gives us the confidence to choose actions aligned with our values and get off the busy train by letting go of what doesn’t matter.
